abstract: Field experiments with triticale cv. Fidelio were conducted in years 1997-2000 at Experimental Station Grabów belonging to Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation – state Research Institute. Plots were located on good wheat soil complex. Sowing densities: 150, 250, 350, 450 seeds per m2 and rates of N fertilizer: 0, 40, 80, 120, 160 kg ha-1 were taken into consideration. The biggest grain yield was obtained under planting density of 250 grains per 1 m2 and N fertilization doses of 120 and 160 kg ha -1. The optimal number of heads for Fidelio variety was 550-600 heads m-2.
