abstract: Geologic structure and conditions of relief development in the north-western part of the Volhynia Polesie (Shack Lakeland) are presented in this paper. Geostructural evolution of the marginal part of the East-European platform is described from the Precambrian to the Quaternary. Modern relief of the Shack Lakeland is characterized in detail. Special attention is given to the role of basement in the Quaternary morphogenesis of the examined area.
