abstract: A detailed rill survey was conducted after heavy rains on the loess soil. Rill width, depth and location were studied in 20 cm transects perpendicular to the plot length. The analysis conducted showed that rill parameters expressed per a length unit did not vary significantly in relation to plot length. Generally speaking, rills width was larger than their depth. Evolution of rill cross-section area was characterised by the consecutive periods of growth and decay. The latter can be identified with a sedimentation process. Sedimentation was confirmed by the analysis of the eroded material from plot collectors. The results showed that loess soil is very susceptible to linear erosion.
