abstract:
The study was to analyze the influence of fertilization of spring barley with sulphur and potassium on yielding and the changes in the content of org. S, S-SO4 and tot. S. The research was performed on the base of pot experiment in years 2001-2002. The soil material used for experiment was characterized by neutral reaction and low content of available forms of phosphorus, potassium, magnesium and sulphur. The obtained results indicate that only the lower dose of sulphur affected significantly the increase of barley yielding. The analysis of obtained data allows also to state that effectiveness of fertilization of plants with potassium depended to great extent on the level of their sulphur supply. The potassium supply of barley influenced beneficially the transformation of sulphur in plants.
