abstract:        Rape is a plant with very high nutritional and fertilizing demands. It requires sowing on time, the optimum soil pH, careful cultivation and full chemical protection. The resulting relatively high cost of the seeds production does not allow for an increase of this plant's cultivation area. A drop in rape's cultivation cost per piece may be achieved, among others, by the use of waste lime containing sulphur and sewage sludge sediments serving as a source of organic substance as well as of many indispensable nutrients. The drop of this cost also requires an application of integrate cultivation and organizational changes by the use and adaptation of a local base during the purchasing, drying and storage of the seeds.
nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;Due to this action it will be possible to increase rape cultivation area and use a significant part of the raw material in industrial production, among others in the production of an energy carrier for the driving of compression-ignition engines. Biofuels production should be encouraged by suitable legal and financial regulations, development of technologies, organization of production and sales, including waste materials.
The evaluation of the need for the production of energy carriers from plant raw materials should consider not only the immediate effects but also side effects of economic, social and ecological nature. Moreover it is especially significant to look for, verify in practice and endorse the solutions that improve both the production efficiency and biofuels quality as this is the only way to ensure their competitiveness in relation to traditional fuels. That is why an optimization of rape biofuel production system should be aimed at, taking into consideration the protection of environment and the principles of the engineering of agricultural processes.
In the soil and climactic conditions of our country rape is a really significant raw material suitable for the processing into industrial articles, including an energy carrier for the driving of compression-ignition engines. A chance for the realization of biofuels production is a drop in cultivation technology financial requirements at rape seeds production, organizational changes through the use and adaptation of a local base as well as development of better technological solutions during the purchasing, drying and storage.
Considering the above-mentioned issues the conclusion is that an increase of rape production to balance the demand for the raw material both for fuel and food purposes may be posible only via the maximum reduction of its production cost. This action should involve all the production stages from the sowing to the processing.
