abstract: The article contains physical and technological characteristics of single kernels in heads of common wheat Triticum aestivum L. Distribution of physical properties of single kernels along length of heads of two varieties of winter and spring wheat were elaborated. Experimental material consists of two varieties of winter wheat: Zyta and Kris and two spring varieties: Nawra and Broma. To obtain of suitable material in vegetative season 2000/2001 exact plots experiments were carried out at the Station of Varieties Estimation in Czeslawice near Naleczow. Heads from main and lateral stalks of each variety were gathered in period of full maturity of grain at maintenance.
Physical properties were directly recorded or indirectly determined with two measure sets: X-ray apparatus with digital analysis of x-ray images as well as measure set: Single Kernel Characterization System (SKCS).
Verification of possibility of interactions was main goal of use of these two measurement sets as one integrated system of complex estimation of single kernels quality fulfilling heads of tested varieties of wheat. Obtained results of investigations pointed out to possibility of practical utilization of such integrated system in both breading progress and monitoring of this features in systems of qualitative estimation of grain in points of sale and redistribution of this valuable material.
