abstract: The paper presents the preliminary results of splash erosion measurements carried out on a wheat plot located in a severely eroded loess catchment. The “splash cup” technique was applied during the investigation which lasted from April to July 2004. Photometric measurements of canopy cover as well as pluviometric records have been collected. Preliminary data analyses permitted the formulation of general relations between these factors and the splash erosion.
