abstract:        The aim of this study was to present the relatively high production of muck soils classified as class V of arable land, used by Cultivar Evaluation Experimental Station in Szczecin-Dąbie. The experiments proved that due to favourable air-water properties and a considerable content of organic matter in muck soil it is possible to obtain high corp yields, especially in the case of vegetable crops. The results obtained indicate that muck soils should remain under agricultural use and be excluded from the light soils designated for afforestation or other non-agricultural purposes.
