abstract: The research was conducted in the years 1997-2000 at the Experimental Station Grabów belonging to the Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation – State Research Institute. Winter triticale cv. Fidelio was planted on good wheat soil complex. The evaluated factors were: plant densities – 150, 250, 350, 450 plants per m2 and fertilization – 0, 40, 80, 120, 160 kg N ha-1. Dry matter of plants and dry matter of heads were estimated during vegetation period. Regardless of nitrogen fertilization, low sowing density had an influence on accumulation of dry matter of plants. The biggest dry matter yields were obtained at full vegetation period under planting density of 250 grains per m2 and nitrogen fertilization at the dose of 120 kg N.ha -1.
