Electrokinetic potential of sediments of artificial water reservoir – Zalew Zemborzycki

abstract: The value of electrokinetic potential of colloids provides information about their predisposition to coagulation and sedimentation. Investigations were conducted on samples of bottom sediments coming from Zalew Zemborzycki reservoir near Lublin. Electrokinetic potential was measured by laser method (LDV) in NaCl solution (0.01 M) with different pH. It was noted that the initial moisture of material and place of origin of the sample affected the value of zeta potential for the given pH.
