abstract: This study was aimed at assessment of the influence of commercial formulation of pesticide on kinetic degradation of alpha-cypermethrin in water, in laboratory conditions. Two commercial insecticides Alfasekt 050 SC and Alfazot 050 EC were used. The results showed that alpha-cypermethrin degradation in distillate water was slower than in natural waters with different chemical constitution. The highest values of DT50,185 days for EC formulation and 247 days for SC formulation were obtained in distillate water. In the case of natural waters, the alpha-cypermethrin half-lives were ranging from 44 to 101 days for SC formulation, and were about 57.6-93.4% higher than values of alpha-cypermethrin DT50 obtained for EC formulation. The calculated values of dissipation time for 90% of applied amount indicates a very long time of deposition of pyretroide derivative in water.
