abstract: The paper presents an estimation of the effect of a modified system of fertilisation of sugar beets on the content of saccharose, technological yield of sugar, index of alkalinity, and the theoretical yield of sugar. The experiments were conducted in two stages (two years) on three farms. Better technological properties were obtained on the area under the modified system of fertilisation (lower doses of nitrogen, fertilisation with microelements, fertiliser doses selection based on analyses of the soil). The strongest significant effect on the parameters under study was that of the meteorological conditions, but a significant effect of cultivars and of the technological level of sugar beet cultivation was also observed.
