abstract: Paper presents results of the influence of grain mechanical properties on compression parameters of grounded and non-grounded wheat grain. Uniaxial compression test (grain crushed between two flat plates) and compaction closed die were carried out with on universal testing machine Zwick Z020/TN2S. It was shown that with increase in grain strength the specific compression work increases and material's compressibility decreases. The highest agglomerate density was obtained for average range of grain mechanical properties (for material of about 14-15% of moisture content).
