abstract: Material for the investigation were five winter wheat cultivars: Alkazar, Bogatka, Finezja, Ludwig and Smuga. In a two-factor laboratory experiment the influence of the application of laser light on sowing value and morphological characters (radicle length, coleoptile and first leaf length) in early development phases were estimated. Also diastatic power was observed (total activity of enzymes α and β amylase) as well as the vigour index. Laser radiation caused stimulation of the morphological characters. The depression generated by laser light in the diastatic power may have an application in the bakery industry. Significant increase of the vigour index of some genotypes confirmed possibility of using laser light for seeds improvement.
