abstract: The configuration of fuel injection systems in self-ignition (Diesel) engines and issues of optimisation of the process of combustion determine specific quality requirements in relation to engine fuels. Changes in the physicochemical properties of RME biofuels and destruction of structural materials constitute the basis for the introduction of material substitutes in the fuel systems of engines and identify the need of establishing norms for the storage of biofuels. On the basis of conducted examinations, an appraisal was made of the processes of the decomposition of materials applied in the fuel systems of engines of agricultural vehicles.
