abstract: The study dealt with the indices of grain technological quality of two spring wheat cultivars (Koksa and Tybalt) depending on the seeding material stimulation intensity using variable magnetic field (50 Hz, B = 30 mT, for 8 or 15 seconds). The study was conducted in the period of 3 years (2006-2008). It was found that the weather conditions during the vegetation period exerted a major effect on grain technological quality. Grain of cv. Koksa, as compared to that of cv. Tybalt, regardless of the stimulation level, contained significantly more protein, gluten, and ash. The Zeleny’s sedimentation index and grain density were higher, while grain uniformity and sedimentation number were lower. Pre-sowing stimulation with variable magnetic field significantly decreased only the Zeleny’s sedimentation index value.
