abstract: The aim of this study was to determine the effect of microwave radiation on the degree of infection with Rhizoctonia solani Kühn of stored potato tubers. In the storage experiment conducted in 2006-2008 very early potato varieties were used: Felka Bona, Rosara and Velox. Storage of potato tubers resulted in a significant increase in the degree of Rhizoctonia solani infection. Microwave irradiation of potato tubers, prior to storage, significantly affected, in relation to the control sample, the degree of infection with Rhizoctonia solani after storage.
