abstract: The paper aims at comparing evaporation calculated on the basis of water vapor flux over water surface, grass surface and class "A" pan evaporation. Evaporation values and meteorological elements were measured during several series carried out in selected days on May and July 2002 in the station Ursynów WAU (Warsaw Agricultural University). Air temperature and vapor density were measures on two levels z1 = 5 cm and z2 = 1 m above water surface and grass in 30 minute time intervals. Mean wind velocity (u2) on the level z2 = 1 m was stated by the use of anemometer. Class "A" pan evaporation (Eo) was stated on the basis of automatic station data and mean values of water vapor flux over the water surface (EW) and the grass (ET) were calculated on the basis of psychrometric method for each 30 minute time interval.
