abstract: This paper presents the influence of alternating magnetic field on the germination speed of ten lines of durum wheat seeds, and application of a model simulating the process of seed germination. The model is based on theoretical premises arising from the physiology of seed germination, with the presumption that the process consists of three consecutive stages: physical, biochemical and physiological one. Based on of investigations one can ascertain that stimulation using alternating magnetic field exerts an influence on the speed of germination of sperms of all the investigated morphological lines of durum wheat, but only in the first phase of the process. On the other hand, it has no practical influence on the number of germinated seeds.
