abstract: Influence of NaCl content in Hoaglands medium (concentrations: 0-150 mmol dm-3) on the growth, photosynthesis, water potential and temperature of wheat (cv. Almari) leaves, growing in controlled conditions, was studied. It was observed that small concentrations of NaCl induce an increase of fresh and dry mass in overground parts and in roots of wheat in relation to the controlled objects. The addition of NaCl to the medium caused a distinct increase of temperature of wheat seedlings leaf surface between control objects and seedlings from various salinity levels. It was ascertained that an increase of NaCl concentration in the medium caused a reduction of the values of the biometrical parameters tested, of the intensity of photosynthesis and transpiration. The value of water potential was also lowered in the leaves of the tested seedlings.
