abstract: Quality of aggregation of Luvisols derived from sandy silt and silt was analysed. It was stated that the water stability of aggregates decreases with the depth in forest soils, while it increases or maintains the same level in arable soils. The soil aggregates get destroyed under the impact of water in the main degree this concerns the fraction under 0.25 mm in size. The aggregation water resistance of the investigated soils is much more strongly influenced by the way of soil use than by the grain size distribution or genesis.
