abstract: The paper presents measurement equipment for field testing of the mechanical resistance of raspberry fruit in mass to uniaxle static loading. The measurements were executed in a glass cylinder with a diameter of about 95 mm, on 100 fruit loaded with a piston of the weight of 5 N. The portable digital recorder stores the results describing the processes of creep time and dislocation. The tests of apparatus and methodological investigations were executed on raspberry fruit of different maturity stages. It was found that measurements can be executed within about 10 seconds and that they permit comparison of the speed of deformation and speed of change of the volumetric density of a layer of raspberries. The suitability of this method was confirmed for pressure range up to 7kPa and the results obtained can be extrapolated up to the range of 20 minutes.
