abstract: The influence of various forms of nitrogen fertilization on yielding of crop plants grown on eroded lessive soils developed from loess and light boulder clays was studied in a multi-year field experiment. Two fertilization variants were applied: soil fertilization using ammonium nitrate and foliar fertilization using urea solution. Besides the yield level, certain yield structure traits were determined, such as 1000-kernel weight, percentage of dry matter, ash and protein content in grains. No obvious influence of foliar fertilization on the increase of plant yield or on the improvement of their quality was observed in comparison to soil fertilization.
