abstract: In the area of city, occupied by the buildings, ponds are usually situated in the suburbs. Especially valuable are the middle-city biotops. Despite the antropopression there is great variety of habitats and very different flora. It is the best place to: feeding, reproduction and sheltering for many species of animals. In this paper are presented results from florist- and phytosociological researches. The examinations had been completed in 1996-2002 years on the area of one pond named "Pond on the Śródleśna-street", which is situated in the west part of Szczecin. There was analysed the herbaceous-, shrubby- and arborescent flora in three plants zones: aquatic, littoral and slope's zone. On the small area of this object (2.7 ha) exsist few habitats: open water surface, planted water surface, watered part of high rushes, seasonal watered area of low rushes, meadow- and herbal area on the slope, arborescent and shrubby ground, nitrophilous communities on the border of described object. Existing biodiversity of habitats lets to classify 131 species of plants (also protected), which belong to many kinds of plant's communities from several the classes.
