abstract: The paper presents an analysis of the use structure of agricultural soils in the aspect of the existing erosive threats, as well as the necessity of changes in spatial management of chosen agricultu-ral microbasin of the Opatówka river basin, with particular emphasis on increased afforestation. Primary examples of incorrect aspects of the structure of land use in the area under study include tillage down the slopes (even on slopes exceeding 15%) and the occurrence of fallow lands – waste lands. Top priority changes that should be introduced include the change of the direction of tillage from down-slope to across the slope along sloping and the exclusion from agricultural use and destination for afforestation of soils localized on slopes with inclinations over 15%. Afforestation should also be applied on existing fallow lands and waste lands in the basin under study.
