abstract: The effect of water content on the resistance of beans to dynamic and static loads was investigated. The study was conducted on three bean cultivars: Mona, Red Kidney and Wiejska at four water content levels (0.075; 0.10; 0.12; 0.15 kg (kg s.m.)-1). The force was measured during static loading at the point of occurrence of micro- and macrodamage. It was noticed that the force at the point of microdamage occurrence caused the cracking of cotyledons. Finally, linear regression equation describing the effect of load on the damage at different water contents was derived basing on dynamic loads.
