abstract: The paper concerns the relation between topsoil and air temperature daily amplitudes with regard to meteorological conditions. The bare soil temperature (at depths of 1 and 5 cm) data from the days without precipitation (only) in some periods of May–July were taken into consideration. The regression equations for topsoil temperature daily amplitudes with regard to the meteorological data combinations were determined, and the values of the determination coefficients as well as the significance of separate variables were analyzed. It was found that values of soil temperature daily amplitude were estimated more precisely on the basis of some meteorological data than by using air temperature amplitude only. The highest accuracy of the estimation was obtained when the daily sums of solar radiation were included to the meteorological data.
