abstract: Five celeriac cultivars were compared in the years 2001-2002. Seeds were sown on 15th March, planted out on 20th May, and harvested on 26th October. The highest crop yields were obtained for Monarch (70.5 t ha-1) and Diamant (59.5 t ha-1). The heaviest roots were produced by Monarch (1.271 kg) and Diamant (1.072 kg). Irrigation increased the root yield by an average of 71%.
