abstract: Seasonal changes in periphytic ciliates density and species composition were analysed in eutrophic Lake Rotcze (Łęczyńsko-Włodawskie Lakeland). 49 taxa of ciliates were found. In periphyton communities dominanted: Cyrtophorida, Peritrichida and Pleurostomatida. The abudance of ciliates communities were seasonal changeable. The highest mean density of ciliates was noted in spring and autumn, lowest in summer. Cyrtophorida (Chilodonella uncinata) dominated in spring, Pleurostomatida and Hymenostomatida in autumn. The bacteriovores and omnivores predominated in trophic structure of ciliates. The highest numbers of bacteriovores were noted in spring and autumn, omnivores in summer.
