abstract: The study was based on results of rainfall interception measurements conducted over the period of 1987-1995 in fields of three cereals: spring barley, winter wheat and winter rye at the Felin Agrometeorological Observatory. Precipitation measurements in the open were carried out with the help of Hellmann pluviometer, and in the fields of cereals – with trough pluviometers. A total of 826 results of interception measurements were obtained. The average values of inter-ception in the period under analysis were as follows: in the field of spring barley – 33.1%, in the field of winter wheat – 33.8%, and in the field of winter rye – 28.9%. The greatest number of interception measurement results fell within the range of 30-40%, second place being taken by those in the range of 40-50%. The frequency distribution was right-hand asymmetrical.
