abstract: The aim of studies was to examine the effect of maize fertilization method on the yield of dry mass and the uptake of mineral components in the initial stage of maize growth. Two methods of fertilization were applied: broadcasting before sowing and in rows (starter fertilization) simultaneously with sowing of grains. The effectiveness of fertilization methods was studied applying P, NP and multiple fertilizers. Row fertilization caused an increase of the yield of dry mass of aboveground parts of young plants of maize as well as an increase of the uptake and accumulation of phosphorus, nitrogen, potassium, magnesium and calcium. The multiple fertilizer amofoska was only fertilizer which, applied in rows, did not increase the yield of dry mass and the uptake of mineral components in the 5-6-leaf-stage.
