abstract:
The paper presents a mathematical model of the course of the process of threshing in a cereal combine harvester, based on the method of orthogonal polynomials. The model describes the relations between decision variables at threshing input, such as drum rotations, feeding and setting of the threshing slot of the thresher unit, and empirical criterial functions describing the extent of losses in the form of kernels left in ears and threshing damage of grain with different moisture content levels at the time of harvest.
