abstract: The paper presents the results of studies concerning the possibility of adaptation of the subject planter for the planting of fuel willow. To assess the viability of the project, field tests of the planter were performed at a plantation of fuel willow located on a field belonging to the Department of Agroengineering Faculty, Academy of Agriculture, Cracow. The effects of planting were assessed after just basic adjustments to the planter (e.g. levelling, depth of planting, row spacing) and the results were compared to literature data. The next stage of the study was to identify the changes that should be introduced to improve the parameters of the planter operation. After consideration of the changes, it was concluded that the RSMB-4 planter can be adapted for planting fuel willow on a larger scale.
