abstract: The purpose of the study was to define the influence of sweet corn kernel separation on cutter work parameters and on quality of material. Investigation of the influence of variable conditions of sweet corn kernels separation from cobs was conducted with the use of a stationary cutter. Measurements were conducted at knife head speeds in the range from 1600 to 2560 r.p.m. and at a constant speed of cob feeder which was equal to 0,31 ms-1. The process of kernels separation from cob cores was realized with and without the use of technological water. The unit power consumption, the cutter throughput capacity as well as the quality of obtained material were defined for these variable conditions of cutting kernels. Statistical analysis of obtained results of the investigations showed that the change of conditions of kernels cutting and rotational speed of cutter head had a statistically significant influence on tested parameters of cutter work and on the quality of material.
