abstract: The goal of this paper was evaluation of the influence of the type of land use (forest, cultivated field) on the content and presence of total, available and exchangeable magnesium and potassium forms in rendzina profiles. The experiment was conducted on the Lublin upland. In five places, one forest type and one agricultural type rendzina profiles were chosen. Each analysed pair of soils (forest and agriculturally used field) embraced sites in the vicinity of each other and characterized by similar relief. The investigated rendzinas were characterized by low and average content of available magnesium forms and average content of available potassium. The land use had significant effect only on the content and distribution of available forms of magnesium.
