abstract:
Pre-pupation selectivity of inorganic substrate grain size for case building by trichopteran larvae, Hydropsyche pellucidula, was estimated on the basis of laboratory experiment and field data. Among four inorganic substrate fractions (fine and coarse sand, fine and coarse gravel) individuals of H. pellucidula that had inhabited in coarse sand and fine gravel were able to complete their life cycle.
