abstract: The paper presents results of studies on the influence of loading velocity on the parameters of the confined compression process of wheat. Material moisture was established at 14%. The experiments were done with the help of a universal Zwick Z020/TN25 test machine. The material was compressed in a closed compression assembly (die). The maximum load was established at 25 kN, and the piston velocity at 5, 10, 20, 40, and 80 mm min-1. The following parameters were analysed – material density in the die, compression and specific compression works, coefficient describing the compressive ability of the material, and strength of agglomerates. The results showed the compression parameters of ground wheat to be dependent on the loading velocity, but significantly only in some its ranges.
