Leaf area index (LAI) of winter triticale depending on plant density and NPK fer-tilization

abstract: Microplot experiments with triticale Woltario variety were conducted in the years 1999-2002. Different levels of fertilization: 160, 260 and 360 kg NPK and different plant densities: 100, 200 and 300 plants m-2 were taken into consideration. During vegetation period the LAI index was evaluated and finally grain yield was determined. The biggest grain yield was obtained under density of 200 plants m-2 and fertilization level of 260 kg NPK. Optimal LAI index for Woltario variety in shooting stage seems to be 3.29 up to 3.94 in heading stage.
