abstract: Significant reduction of grain damage by insect pests can be achieved by application of gamma irradiation of cereal grain before storage. This paper presents the indirect effect of gamma irradiation of wheat grain Begra variety on grain microstructure caused by selected radiation doses (0.05 kG and 0.1 kGy). Grain endosperm microstructure tested indirectly in two generations of grain crop was not affected by gamma rays used. However, smaller dimensions of external epidermal cells of kernels in both generations of wheat grain crop were noted.
