abstract: The studies were carried out in the storage season 2005/06 and included potato tubers of Ibis, Irga, Denar, Vineta and Salto varieties, stored in the following three objects: a clamp, a cellar and a controlled-atmosphere store. The studies were related to the evaluation of losses during storage, caused by evaporation, breathing and diseases, as well as to changes of dry mass content. A considerable reaction of the tested varieties to long-term storage and storage conditions was ob-served. Among the three storage places, the cellar appeared to be the least advisable. The tubers stored there were most infected with rhizoctonia and the greatest extent of natural defects, losses caused by diseases and bulb germination was noticed.
