abstract: In environmental studies carried out in the Lublin region in 2001-2003 the content of sulphur in some crops (winter rye, winter wheat, potato, carrot, strawberry, white cabbage, apple, cucumber) was evaluated. Relationship between this element and some physical and chemical properties of soil was assessed. Chemical analyses of plant and soil material were performed in accredited laboratory of Regional Chemical-Agricultural Station in Lublin. Content of sulphur in crops grown in the Lublin region (winter rye, winter wheat, potato, carrot, strawberry, white cabbage, apple, cucumber) was equal and did not depend significantly on the region where the plants were grown. Evaluated crops were provided with sufficient amount of sulphur and its content depended only slightly on some properties of soil.
