abstract: The article presents an analysis of factors that determine the development of agriculture in the district of Jarosław, such as the area structure of agricultural farms, soil and climate conditions in the region. The small-area and fragmented individual agricultural farms prevalent in the district are uneconomical. As of the 1st of January, 2008, the area of the Jaroslaw administrative district was integrated in 26.5%. The administrative district of Jarosław is characterized by comparatively good natural conditions, essential for agricultural production, however, one can observe a certain differentiation in the territorial arrangement. The soil potential permits the cultivation of all crop plants and cattle farming. In individual parts of the administrative district there occur insignificant local climatic differentiations resulting from the location and relief of the terrain, the degree of afforestation, and the direction of winds.
