abstract: In the study the procedure of ordering mean values was applied to identify two “best” populations, considering maximum pressure values obtained in the process of swelling seeds in selected leguminous plants. The probability of selecting two “best” populations was calculated for fixed sample sizes, and the required sample sizes were determined for selected probability values.
