abstract: The aim of this study was to determine the mass losses of potato tubers irradiated with microwaves in the successive stages of storage. The study was conducted in 2006-2008 with the use of three very early varieties of potatoes: Felka Bona, Rosara and Velox. The experiment was based on the use of a device with a power of 100 watts, generating microwave radiation frequency of 2.45 GHz. The obtained test results indicate that, at the exposure times (10, 20 and 60 s) adopted in the experiment, microwave radiation significantly modifies (reduces) the mass loss of stored potato tubers.
