abstract: The yielding and weed infestation of winter wheat cv. Turnia growing on degraded chernozem developed from loess, as dependent on the applied doses of Huzar 05 WG herbicide (5% iodosulfuron methyl sodium), are presented in the paper. It was observed that the highest increases in grain yield and in the investigated yield-creating features of winter wheat were obtained when the herbicide was applied at the recommended dose (200 g ha-1) and at the dose reduced by 25% with relation to the recommended one. Apera spica-venti, Chenopodium album and Viola arvensis were dominant in weed infestation of winter wheat. All of the doses of Huzar 05 WG herbicide limited effectively their numbers, as well as those of the 29 remaining taxons, with the exception of Setaria viridis.
