abstract: The level of losses from combine harvesting has a particular meaning in the scale of the whole country. They are direct (quantitative) and indirect (qualitative) losses. This is of particular importance in the case seed material, because damage inflicted to grain during the process of combine harvest can lower its quality. The aim of the work was to determine which factors have the most significant effect on the level of losses in combine harvesting, and the application of factorial analysis provided the method. The results of studies on the effect of factors influencing the level of losses in combine harvesting, by various authors involved in this field, are compiled in Tables. The factorial analysis performed provided an answer to the question what factors are insignificant in the generation of losses in combine harvesting.
