abstract: The paper presents an evaluation of selected parameters of grain quality of durum wheat cv. Floradur. The investigation included samples of grain from a field experiment in which durum wheat was sown in different tillage systems (ploughing tillage and ploughless tillage) and at different nitrogen doses (90 and 150 kg ha-1). The parameters assessed included total protein content, wet gluten, grain density (mass per hectolitre), grain uniformity, glassiness grain, total ash content and falling number. It was found that nitrogen fertilization had a greater impact on grain quality of wheat than tillage. The high dose of nitrogen (150 kg ha-1), compared to the standard dose (90 kg ha-1), increased the protein and gluten content in the grain, grain density and uniformity, glassiness, and total ash content. Tillage systems (ploughing tillage and ploughless tillage) differentiated the quality of grain only slightly. The exception was grain uniformity which was better in the ploughing system treatments than in the ploughless ones.
