abstract:
The paper describes mathematical models which permit the evaluation of the vitality of seeds on the basis of their germination kinetics. Beside the basic methods, such as the application of Gauss and Rayleigh statistical distributions, analytical and simulation models are presented. Hitherto, the application of the models describes always provided a good agreement between the experimental and calculated result curves, and curves of germination intensity generated on the basis of simulated results reflected also the statistical spread of the experimental data.
