abstract: The paper presents results of calibration of the CERES-Barley model for data obtained from field experiments carried out in 1986-1989. The model calibrated for two barley varieties - Aramir and Diva - was used for the simulation of potential yields as affected by the number of tractor passes. The simulation was performed for loamy sand and silty loam textured soils. The results indicate that simulated yield must be corrected using statistical techniques, and that it is possible to estimate potential yields as determined by distribution of probability.
