abstract: Using homogenized climatological data, a mathematical model of mean tempe-rature in Poland was built. The model gives point information for any chosen period and makes possible the construction of digital maps. The main idea consists in the evaluation of Fourier coefficients describing the annual cycle of temperature as functions of geographic coordinates. The topoclimatic modifications related to the terrain features were also considered The exactness of results is better than that obtained by using classical interpolation methods. The model facilitates also the calculation of some derivative characteristics useful in agrometeorology as, for example, mean effective degree-days and dates of phenological phenomena.
